Rocker cover

I've got all my stuff to remove my rocker cover, new gasket seal, rtv, cleaner, primer and paint but is there anything I need to be aware of prior to removal and anything prior to putting it back on.

I'm not overly confident a mechanic but drokk can I make a kitchen

I like to seal the spark plug tubes to the cover with silicone. Also all of the angled areas of the gasket for example the cam cut out radius's. Make sure when lowering the cover down not to pinch the seals against the tubes. Also no more than 12 nm torque

Ok humour me but how do I measure 12 newton metres of torque.

Just do them up until they stop. NO MORE OR YOU WILL BREAK STUDS. You will feel the nuts just stop. Then no more

Don't listen to @thebusofwoe, that was very vague. He doesn't even work with cars. Don't trust him.

Make a 1cm lever, attach one of these:

Then just pull until the nuts tighten

and you have a readout of 120kg.

Well...

1 N·m = 0.102 kg·m. Convert to cm for comedy effect. But yes. As I understand it a torque wrench is calibrated to it's length, so if you set a limit and then apply force until said limit is indicated, then you have tightened to that limit?
