Chassis numbering issue

Post by simonc » Tue Sep 24, 2013 4:08 am

Hi all,
OK, I'm in the process of trying to order some bushes for my Prelude. I've contacted a company called Larkspeed in Leeds as they stock the Super Pro bushings.
I wrote to them yesterday and enquired about bushes for my car and they responded quickly to ask about my chassis number.
They guy from Larkspeed asked if my car is the BA4 chassis but when I check the plate my chassis is BB1.
As this car is a parallel import it is actually a Japanese spec car. The full codes for my car are:
1994, Series 4, Si VTEC, 2.2, H22a, 4WS, Chassis No. BB1.
My question is this gentlemen - because it's a Japanese spec car does that make the chassis unique or is it just a method of identification?
Is my chassis, BB1 exactly the same as the BA4 just numbered differently for the markets?
I do hope you guys can help.
Thanks ever so much,
Simon.

A BA4 is a 3rd generation Prelude - your BB1is a 4th generation Prelude.

4th generation Preludes are:

BB1 - H22A, 4WS
BB2 - H23A
BB3 - F20A
BB4 - H22A, no 4WS

All 4th gens were made in exactly the same factory - there is no difference between the chassis of a "UK" BB1 and a "JDM" BB1

Brilliant assistance - as ever. Thank you very much indeed. Very much appreciated.
I'll get this info off to Larkspeed now and try to get the correct set of bushes.

Hi Lude Dude, I'm glad you mentioned another supplier because Larkspeed say they do not stock them. I'll look up this Energy Suspension company and give them a try.
Many thanks
Simon.

Which bushes are you after? There are quite a few places on ebay that do them for a decent price.
