Can you easily disconnect one and find out what's not working? Happy to bring a meter over if it can wait a couple of weeks? I'm away next weekend but free the following one.
Ok I've replaced the existing leds with new canbus leds and now cruise control works with the lights on. B-) happiness is restored

There's a welded nut on the bracket, but the one behind the bracket (between the bracket and the main body of the switch) is the locking nut - you nip this up to prevent the switch from rotating back out of position.

Also, I've just realised that this is clutch/brake switch I've got rolling around in my Anglia's footwell that I couldn't previously recognise!

Well that's all good then, btw I've done that and now cruise control always works 100% fixed :-)
