Starter Motor Failing ?

Post by toadster » Mon Jul 17, 2017 7:30 pm

LO All
A few weeks ago I put some petrol in and my first try to start the car just gave a skreeching noise :(
Started ok on second attempt.
Today however My Lude wouldn't start just made the same noise :(
After about 10 atempts it sluggishly started and then just managed to pick up and run.
I thought it may be the battery as the car wasn't driven over the weekend but battery seems fine all dash lights are bright and battery indicator is green on battery body so I'm guessing it might be the starter motor :?:
How long do they normally last :?: and how much should I pay to get a new one fitted :?:
Cheers for your help peops ;)

Hi matey I'm guessing theses are not new :?:
How much would you want for the auto one :?:
So far it's only happened twice so I need to confirm if this is the issue or not :?
Cheers ;)

If it happens again give it a whack with a hammer and if it starts its probably the motor. Quick if your doing a replacement. However keep the old one and as NCCMUR said buy a brush kit when you get the chance and refurb it yourself.

Did a quick Google, no joy I'm afraid.
You'll have to make do with a regular hammer

Hope you get it sorted
