Supercharged or turbo
I`l never understand why anyone would choose a supercharger over a turbo. TURBO TURBO TURBO
And more so if you want big bhp
As for what you mentioned about 4wd earlier you could use a crv box with a h2b gearbox adapter plate. But i dont think a crv box would hold up very well without some major work

Turbo:
+ Better adiabatic efficiency = more power per psi than SC.
- Varying degrees of lag.
- No power at low end of the rpm band.
- Non linear ramp up of torque = feels amazing, but can get you in trouble in corners.
Supercharger:
+ Instant power when you mash the throttle.
+ increase in power over whole rpm range.
- Lower adiabatic efficiency, means less power per psi of boost compared to turbo.
In my perfect world i'd have a twin charged car, the supercharger can provide the low down grunt which feels great when driving around town, and then the higher up the rev range you go you can get that fantastic sensation of acceleration you get only with a turbo!

M90 will be too much bud. The amount of boost that'll produce you will be into either Mahle forged pistons or sleeved block territory. Would be fun though!
As for flipping the rotors, its down to the rotation direction of the H22 engines. You mount it where you plan and you'll be sucking air not pushing it.
Easiest thing is actually a double sided belt and run it back on itself to run the charger the right way round. Means some additional head scratching and some more brackets/idler pulleys, but less hassle.

Ah, is it the older V6 one, the newer V8 ones have a M112 - avoid that like the plague! 
Yeah, unfortunately for the size of most production car engines, M45's are ten a penny, but too under powered for our cars.
Just a case of keep searching. Try some Merc forums to try and find the exact models that had the M62. It'll be the larger capacity engines. I did used to know, but it's slipped my memory. Sorry!
