As for pitching tents, who will be wanting to rather stay in a cheap hotel or something? because after driving for 5 odd hrs to dover then driving all the next day to germany, the last thing I want to be doing is having an uncomforatble night on the floor in a tent. Plus the missus wants to come and I think camping is going to be a big no no with her too.

@gayno:
jobby! ok.
@mart: Hmm, ill see what I can do. I have a friend who has family down that way but im not sure what kind of space they have. Otherwise it could be a block booking of one place for the night, see if we can get it cheap.
We need definate numbers first though.

I know, I'm going to keep my eye on things so I may make it yet, but don't want to start organising then drop out leaving everyone in the lurch.
@Mart- My idea about "pitching up" near Dover was just so we could get the early train on the Friday. You can camp, hotel, whatever as long as you're at the train for the right time in the morning, Thursday night wasn't ever a social!

True, but that crossing takes 2 hours.Sailor wrote:About £70 if you take the Dover-Dunkirk boats.
For an extra £20 I'd rather take the train and it take half an hour. Time is money my friend!
This would've obviously gone to the vote before anything was set in concrete, and now I'm no longer in charge, my opinion matters not

And there is a good chance that myself and my mate nick will go to spa on the sunday, camp over, chill out on the monday and then come back on the tuesday.... I want a holiday not three days constant driving.
I think all we really need to do is organise the general meeting at dover, the combined travel over the water and convoy to the ring. After that all bets are off and you decide how and what you want to do.
I am sure loads of people will go back together but i know I wont be packing up sunday morn to go home, thats for sure.
