yeah I got them saved in my faves on ebay, spent hours looking last night, having another go with my bodge just for giggles, think I may be onto something here :D

so here is what is on my car

my steering wheel

I cut off the plastics of a spare steering wheel
Image

back of my 2ws boss
Image

Marked up where the cruise plug need to come out
Image

drilled and fitted the cruise and horn loom
Image

fed wires through
Image

silicone the switches on to rubber on the boss, will tidy up later when dry

this is how its looking now

next up is to either make an aluminium plate for the 4ws bit or further bodge the plastic cut off.

I think I can make it work.

Nice improvise Bri, the fact you had the non SRS, three contact ring in the first place made yours alot easier to do. It took me a couple of indicator stalks and rings to figure out the right one to use.

I've done this too. Mine had cruise, SRS and 4WS. Had them all working when I did it, but I've removed all those features now. Mart, still got the HKB boss with the cruise buttons on the top if you still want it, we were chatting about it at Japfest last year. If you can find me a replacement hub with just the horn contact then you can have mine + custom SRS harness I soldered up + a little cash my way.

I think I posted all my info over from PUK on to here when someone else was asking about it all. There was lots of pics.

The fact I had two options made life easier, the HKB hub has the cruise buttons on the hub (not cheap to buy though, if you can fin one) + the Mugen steering wheel I was fitting also had the cruise buttons built into it.

Let me know Mart. Bri - good work, should work just fine. 8)

Anyone with SRS as well, the horn and cruise wiring goes into the SRS harness (all grey wires), so needs some fettling. If I find the info again, I'll post it up here for easy searching. :D

My last one was a UK spec too rob and likewise took me a few stalks and rings to sort it out, but in the end I gave up on the cruise and ditched the 4ws anyway. I did have to tap into the yellow harness for the horn on the dash ide, I thought that the srs would of been completely disabled but the passenger side exploded ok in the accident I had with that motorbike.

Can anybody tell me if those holes have to be in that position or not on the back of the standard wheel? The 2 little holes, are they for the 4ws or cruise??? Does it measure the steering wheel angle?

This I think, the 4ws angle sensor is held purely by compression as you bolt the wheel on.

+Rep for simultaneously using a 4 syllable word, being helpful and making little sense out of context!

hmm good to get peoples heads working especially when mine is not. What I am trying to find out is does this
Image

need to be in EXACTLY the same position as it would on the OEM wheel? If I put it on wrong angle will my 4WS play up or throw a code? This moves a contact plate underneath this
Image
So I have to stick the cut off part on the boss, but is it essential that its in the perfect position?

The angle sensor is further down the column isn't it? just checking before I secure it to the boss because once its on it will never come off and I only get 1 shot

The angle sensor is the ring you can see with the yellow bit, at 6 o'clock in that piccy - right in at the column itself. With that contact ring, you can have it at whatever the hell angle you want man 8-)
