Nurburgring passenger's. Do you want to come but got no car?

Post by lewd lude lover » Wed Mar 13, 2013 7:44 pm

So we are fast running toward the European meet at the nurburgring.

Obviously not all of us members have cars on the road at the moment and not all of us have the cash to take our beloved on such a jaunt. Also some members might want to go but cant afford to shoulder all the costs themselves and have no passenger to take...Thats not to say that you might not still want to join in with a legendary roadtrip and pissup. :D

I suggest a passenger and drivers pool.

Members who want to come but have no car can pay a proportion of the fixed costs and get a ride. They can then move from car to car and get a really great experience of the whole trip. Members wanting to share the costs of taking their car over then get help toward the cost of the trip and a chance to meet lots of members as we drive along.

I suggest the cost is a fixed price worked out from the average costs incured by the driver pool. We can all post our crossing costs and work out the average fuel going to be used and come to a figure easy enough. This money is then shared out between drivers who sign onto the scheme to help them out with the pocket damage.

We can work out who lives where and who can get picked up etc and those costs can be worked out there and then (driver makes 50 miles detour to pick up passenger on the way to the ferry = £15 fuel or something) but i would want all the pool money to be sent through paypal and shared the same.

i would suggest we only put two people in each lude (driver/passenger)....we all know thats how many it was built for. If we have more passengers willing to pay than direct spaces we will work it out when we get there.

So first, do you think this is a good idea?

Second, write your name down if you want to be in either pool and we will see if this has wings to fly.

Donald, you can roll with me the whole way in that case!

I could probably afford it with a guaranteed passenger!

Well thats the idea really. If the fixed costs of the journey work out to 600£ then the passenger pays 300£ toward it. This allows people with less than 600£ available to consider the roadtrip seriously.

Suddenly its costing you half as much as it would have without a passenger.

Passengers will get to hop from car to car and experience a version of the trip unavailable to others. They also get the chance to actually come along without a car as well

Lets not forget sharing the driving as well. look into insurance maybe?

I for one would be happy to hand the keys of my type S over to a sober passenger that has paid their way to have a gentle drive round the ring, just so they can say they have done it!

This is my main reason I think. To allow all members who might want to but cant the chance to.
