Surely i would be experiencing more then a slight pull to the left if that was the case?
The car would be flailing about all over the place if the rear wheels were moving about of their own accord or at least causing some serious juddering, no?

if the 4ws not on then driving down the road would feel like the car is tramlining.
when you drive on the inside lane of the motorway and you get stuck in the lorry grooves and you tramline!

does it feel like this?

Not really, its just a slight pull to the left. my mums mk2 mondeo does the same thing, always has done.

Its a very smooth pull, which makes me think something is out of line.

I will have a look at fixing the bulb to see if i can pull up and error code.
If the 4ws fuse is shot or has been pulled, would the 4ws light still come on?

I have heard you can pull the fuse to disengage the 4ws?

If the fuse was pulled I'm sure the dash warning light would still show?

first thing to do is look under the back and make sure it hasn'tbeen converted to 2ws. then check you have a fuse in the box.then pull your clocks and check for bulb.

if you put one in and the light stays on all the time then it needs fixing. drii with 4ws dissengaged is not good.

sometimes it can be a real simple fix, mine went and the 4ws ecu that is behind the rear passenger seat, had a faulty earth.
i have fixed another just by giving it a good clean, another one we fixed was he abs sensors needed cleaning but when the ecu ran and detects something not working it seems to fire the 4ws off.

hopefully some tlc and it will be fixed ;)

Will check under the car tomorrow. the 4ws ecu is accessed through the boot yeah? the big unit attached the the back of the rear passenger seat?

it can be either side m8. through the boot or take out the rear seat back it is bolted to the rear seat crossbar/back support.

worth having a look at the earth, if it proves to be faulty i do have a spare whole ecu in my garage.

just need the bulb in a fire the codes to get the best idea ;)
