how hard is it to swap a starter motor?

Post by lewd lude lover » Sat Feb 11, 2012 10:45 am

hey guys,

my white lude has an aftermarket starter motor on it. as such it does not have that distinctive H22A sound on start up. this is just not good enough in my eyes :?

the red one has a good OE one fitted and i fancy swapping them over.

am i going to find it difficult? or could i have done it in the time it took to type this?

im off out for a look at the whole job of getting the red one ready for sale but if anyone has any advice i would be very grateful.

It's a doddle James....even for you ;)
Disconnect battery negative
Pull of solenoid spade connection wire
Undo nut holding battery cable to starter
Then remove both bolts holding starter to gearbox and remove starter
Refit in reverse order
Simplez ;)
