Very cool 8-) it is.

My nan had a resident Sparrowhawk that would take her garden birds straight off the feeders

I see the kill remains over at my dad's garden but haven't actually seen one there yet. They usually leave a ring-shape of feathers and the slime/guts flicked out in a straight line.

We had one of those in our bedroom last year, bugger flew through an open window an could not find its way out.

The wife had to call me back from work to get rid of it. The talons are viscous.

That would more than likely have been a Peregrine Falcon that took the Pigeon. Awesome birds!!!

Personally I would doubt the Peregrine.

Too low and the attack style is more that of a sparrowhawk. They love coming in just over obstacles and will take pigeons, as well as ground prey, it probably already had the pigeon spotted on the ground and was going for it. I've seen plenty of pigeon remains left by sparrowhawks.

Still I'm not always right ;)
