Re: Akahana - lucas' 4th gen (UPDATE)

Post by lucas » Sun Mar 24, 2013 5:28 pm

I guess its time for an update :?

ive had the car off the road for nearly a year, and ive been working on it when i can which is very rarely :(

started doing a small wire tuck and then decided to just go all the way and do it all the way, no shortcuts !

then i decided its best just to go mental on it and make the engine bay so clean you can eat yer dinner off it !

i will let the pics do the talking ;)

engine out, with help from the wee barra

the mess to clean up

abs out

seam seal removed

the end of day 1 :)
Image

shortly after this i moved into a house and had to give up the garage, but i got a driveway :D
so to save money just now and to keep the lude out the harsh weathers i bought a marquee for £50 on ebay about 6 months ago

Image

i then got a floor to stop drafts and to keep a bit of heat in, works a treat !
Image

and to stop the wind ripping it apart and blowing it 2 streets away i bolted it the ground, the neighbours garage and laced it together with rope, this made it so much more secure!

after this i was able to start working on it again !

this is how we left it, not even started the tuck yet :(

Image

lol, i had to transport the lude and engine somehow ;)

Image

got my mate joe to give us a hand :)

joe getting pissed off at the pointless airbox,

few fires tucked
Image

this was the end of day 2 (of actually working on the car)

we then started again last night 23/03/13

sanding down, filling with flexy filler, and more sanding down !

thats us up to date :)
plan is to get it all smooth and remove the panels next to the engine mount, with the 4 holes in it.
then get it in primer for paint 8-)
