the ebay 1 is too dear imho but the half price 1 sounds like a good shout. im currently in negotiations for 1 myself, 328 coupe @ almost a tenth of that price, been parked up a few months and now wants shot off his drive. oh and this used to compete against the bag o sh1te at the local autotests with some success, had 1 of those tram road diffs in it lol

this was £500 but a pile of goodies sold off it when it was bought to recoup some money back, taxed and mot when purchased and in tidy condition.

they are out there for peanuts.

bloody word filter, i cant even refer to my own car as the bag o sh1te any more, bag o bum droppings

We almost bought a coupe for £800, it had nice wheels, lsd and a load of parts we didn't need, by the time we'd sold that off that lot the car would have almost been free

Remember if your going to drift it don't get something too nice to start with cos you'll only cry when you smash it into a cone or someone else

And Ted they could have taken the M3 rear lights off that 328 there worth £70 a set :(

// Edit

This is the one that went for £800

 @tram. word filter annoys the drokk out of me.

I agree it is a little over priced but consider the amount of recent work done. New clutch, water pump, fully polybushed, 700£ worth of dampers etc... this is all work i would want to do myself eventually and spend '000 on it no doubt. All this needs is the diff welded or an LSD and change over the intake mani and throttle body.

Then RACE CAR

The cars out there for 900-1300 are coming up on major works (10-15k) and dont have the required mods to make them handle like i want... paying the guy 1700 would be a fair/good price imho considering what I wouldn't have to do to it..

@ammo: I think i want to do a little skidding but mainly i want a rwd car for a while. Never tried it. the amount of drifing available over here is not a lot so it would be more to drive the car than use as a dedicated drift car. Car parks and roundabouts for a while until the soprt gets established over here.
I also want a car that wont(shouldnt) break down or cost me as it will be my daily. Also I dont want to/cant for work look like a jub in my daily so it has to look half clean. Not thinkig about how cheap you CAN get them but rather how much this car is worth, what do you think is a fair price considering the work done to it? You know the cars better than I.

@tramroad:on another note, how much are these 4.2whatever lsd diferentials you can source???

this is the other one

but the guy doesnt know what springs its riding on or when the clutch was done... if he put the shocks on there you would have thought he would know what the springs were.. red lights go off in my head at that point..

@ammo: fair. i think most people who own them would like it to be any other way. you see so many stock 328's with cloth interior on 120k for £1700-1900 :? laugh out loud.

I would go in at 1400 and see what happened i think.

I have read your posts but I am still struggling to understand why you'd want a 328 when you have a Lude. Is it so you dont have to take the Lude to the Nurburgring?

1 so I dont have to pay insurance on two cars (lude and volvo)insurance on bimmer is £300 FC. I paid£1200 for both cars last year.
2 so I can learn a bit about RWD, the other form of driving.
3 its the only non M BMW that will keep up with the lude.
4 the next step for the lude is £1500 of mods. £1000 on a custom exhaust and £500 on a dastek tune up. Why not just buy another car?
5 so I have a fun daily
6 Lude is too 'precious' to use as a daily after all the work iv done to it. Garage queen only.
7 The summer is looking like it will be rubbish again. skidding is good in the wet. Precision lude driving is bum droppings.
8 Skidding looks like fun
9 I dont need a big load carrier volvo as a daily anymore.
10 I have driven the same daily for 3 years.
11 I just sold a shead load of old sound kit for much more than i thought I would.
12 Modifications on E36 2.8 are cheap and effective.
13 it costs a frikking fortune to run two cars in a rubbish summer. I paid like £250 a month last summer to have the lude on the road for about 16 driving days. drokk THAT
That was about 5 mins thinking

Did I mention skidding looks fun? 8-) :D

keep the lude in the garage as the weather is just not worth it, sell the volvo and replace with one of these was the idea. kinda middle it out a bit.

Well i have told him I'm interested but that his price is a bit high. we shall see..

@tramroad:on another note, how much are these 4.2whatever lsd diferentials you can source???

4.27 was in a lot of the 520 auto and some of the manuals too around the 88,89 year and they have a tab on the diff to say the ratio so you can tell before you buy. around £100 is the going rate. this is a medium case diff so the cwp would fit straight in to a 328 casing if you bought an lsd car or you could change the whole diff from the 5 series if your going down the mig diff route. rear of the diff casing is interchangable between cars and this would have to come off to weld it anyway.
the m3 evo that was bought as a doner for the m3 compact build had a large case diff in it but that's the only large case i have seen in a 3 series. easy to tell apart anyway.
small is this big ..... medium is this big....... and the large is this big............
