It was a tight squeeze. I wrapped a lot of the exposed plastic bits in baking foil to tray and stop them from touching the hot metal part of the oven.

Post by Merlin » Tue Mar 26, 2013 1:27 pm

I got the headlights finished. What a ballache that was  Big up to Vanzep and Newkid for giving me a hand to re-seal the OEM's, it's a bit of a handfull by yourself.

Yeah forgetting to put one of the black inserts in and having to take the light apart, as well as getting your hands covered with Sikaflex (which they still are BTW), was a bit of a  :-D

I have had them on for 4 years so fancied a change, I bought them in the first place to go with my Mugen bumper, plus I wanted to try the black inserts on the OEM's. The position of the OEM lights needs a tweak, I put them on in the fast approaching dark while it was snowing.

Scumbag Car

At the worst time possible the 5th needs a load of work done to it. The 4th is on the verge of being put back together and needing the last few parts when the clutch gave out on the 5th gen :( The timing belt needs changed and converted to H23 manual tensioner too so we think it is an engine out job. So while Im there do some of the things that would be easy to do while the engine is out.

Image

What's here is a valve cover kit, and OEM timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, camshaft end seal, oil cooler O ring gasket, 2 driveshaft set rings, Accord Type-R clutch kit, and H23 manual tensioner kit with OEM parts. Im going to replace my flaking valve cover, with the one I had up for sale since it hasnt shifted, while I am at it.

I got a set of cheap Mintex pads for the rear and 2 rear caliper rebuild kits from Brakes International. Each kit has two new slider pins with their own rubber boots.

The Honda water pump looks nice, it should be at the price of them.

Here is how much meat the ATR clutch has on it, not even the width of a penny.

Shitter :(

Where did you source your water pump in the end? Longs want 90 odd quid IIRC... I'm sure OEM Honda can be had cheaper elsewhere :?

Edit: in fact all of the OEM parts

Crap luck. But get in there.

If you need an extra pair of hands shout. I am mechanically completely incompetent though (really).
