The stock 5th gen lights are brilliant for reflectors.

Probably a bit harsh but my lenses used to fog over all the time so i guess that could explain why the performance was poor!

As do the 6 families that live in them ;)

Wheels update

Post by macky_6 » Thu Feb 16, 2012 1:34 pm

Hey all,

The wheels i have currently fitted to my Lude (Fox R6) have a diamond polished lip. As i use my car as a daily driver, even in winter (gasp!), this lip has become corroded & i wanted to get them off & get them sorted. Problem is, i use the car every day so i needed replacements.
I had a set of stock wheels which were badly corroded & to give myself something to do more than anything, i decided on a cheap DIY refurb.
Here's how they started off:

This was the best of them

So after much filing, sanding, etch priming, priming, painting, masking, painting, lacquering:

Hopefully this will tie in with my silver/black colour scheme :D

Cheers Nitin!

Mods, any way you can rotate the picture so the valve is at the bottom, it looks so much better, pretty please?

Nice 8-) Check out Pushkis "how-to" on polishing wheels as well, he talks about using different polishes/seals to try and keep em clean.
