didnt say i brought one, just thinking of, trying to find a car thats intresting to drive without spending a shed load of money. not as easy as i first thought. was tempted by an nsx, i always wanted one but im too tight fisted to take the plunge and again its the age thing, yes i know they have all been kept in garages with heaters/dehumidifiers and the like but it would be finding parts as it also has to be a daily  besides if i did buy an nsx i would be skint again, they apear to be going back up in price
here is my problem, i need to do all the belts on my lude and its starting to rust, was rear ended about 2 years ago in the lude, tesco paid out £800, so that is the value of the lude. as ted will agree (being a machanic and all that) there is no point in spending more than £800 on the lude  this gives me this dilema, i like my lude and its been a great car, i need to buy a jap car as im completly converted. now what do i go for.
would likes -1 no more than 2 seats (unless there like lude rear seats which are just a sugestion :D ).
2 must be fun to drive otherwise i may as well get a 206 hdi and get 70mpg
3 cant be too old or im just swapping one old tart for another
in hindsight i should have brought that rust free shell that was on here last year, but the work it would involve :?
the other alternative is to see just how long the original honda belts will actually hold out :P

First off welcome back, sorry for your losses, sort your head out and fix your lude up proper. You will not find another car that ticks your boxes. A few hundred quid or a grand on your current car that is awesome or a car you do not know? I would take my chances with the lude.

Now go and stand in the corner until the naughty thoughts have left your head!

when you say naughty thought, is that for the nissan or the 5th gen  a grand :o  i know what you say is correct, but its burning a hole. the rust is my own fault, driving home from webley one night (just after some snow) i ran out of screen wash, the only thing in the car was a 2lt bottle of coke. so it went onto the screen bit by bit till it was all gone (whilst still driving oopps) in the morning it had already started the rust around the window pillar  evil stuff coke

Yes.
THATS A TON AND A HALF.

Other than that, carry on :D
they also have 280 bhp in the older and over 300bhp in the newer model so thats roughly a 100 bhp more than a lude that only weighs 200 kg less. you can do the maths on that one as i don't think i need to.
the 350z is a lot more modern looking car and if made by honda as a 6th gen prelude plenty of people on here would be raving about them.
i love the prelude but if i were going to spend some of my hard earned on a new car it would be wearing a nissan badge as there isn't a car with a honda badge on that is able to fill the prelude gap.
lets face it all of the prelude gens are now very usable classics that you wouldn't want to turn up at some swanky business meeting in if you were looking to impress. they are a fine car to take to shows with like minded people, or the track to thrash the tits off or as a very reliable very fast budget car. they have reached that certain age where people now say wow i used to love them when i was a kid i haven't seen one in ages.
chasing rust is not everybodys idea of fun either and certainly isn't cheap to keep on top of, i have 2 small areas on the pickup again that need sorting. sunroof and rear arch and it annoys the hell out of me but i will get them done so i can take it to shows and thrash it round a track that i have towed it to with my 350z

 the answers still no, the mrs wants a new kitchen so by the time i can afford 1 maybe something else will take my fancy and be a little cheaper than they are now, porsche cayman for example, not the quickest but very pretty imo

just do what im doing - dont tell her there is a pile of money stashed away. i may come clean kina, tell her about a percentage of said money then if it ever comes out im covered, especially if she spends this percentage  im thinking maybe tell her i have borrowed the money for a car from work as i did with the lude all those years ago 8-)
i still want a kitcar simply because of the simplicity of keeping it on the road, could last for ever.

i thought kiyans were for W.A.G.S
