tyre help

Post by Dbo » Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:16 pm

So bought the Boss Redline rims from ddoubledanny ;)
they were sold as 16" so the plan was to put the 205/45/16 tyres from my ATS rims on, considering they are only a month old
but looking today at the Boss rims they turn out to be 17" x 7JJ
and the flush valves fitted have no blow up adapter

i now need 4x 215/45/17 tyres anyone know anywhere cheap as blown all my money on getting them

Standard tyre size on a 4th is 205/55/15 to get the same rolling radius on a 17 you need 215/40/17, if you fit a 45 profile it will throw your speedo out mate.

speedo has always been out m8 ;)
had 18" with 215/35/18 and speedo was right till 60mph had 17" with 215/40/17 still out after 70mph,
had 16" with 205/45/16 and same again

35 profile massive understeer, 40 profile hard nasty ride and in the wet dont bother :( 45 profile just seems to work and cant go any bigger as wouldn't fit under the arches

doesn't look like rims will be going on anytime soon  as tried all day today and nowhere has 215/45/17 runners and i got offered was retreads at £190 for all 4

will probally just be fitting normal valves anyway Sam ;)
