Post by Vti Steve » Sat Apr 06, 2013 3:57 pm

I've been out driving my 5th Gen and when I come to traffic light, I put it in Neutral.

When I pull away, I put it into Drive but it jumps 2or3 times!!!! Then when I pull up at home n put it in Park, I can't get it back outa Park!!!!

Switched the car off n then back on again n it's fine.

What's going on?????

Plz help guys :-(

No idea mate, not being an auto-head, but transmission fluid might be worth checking?

Sure someone will be along soon with a better idea ... :)

Yea. But after it has done the double push in drive, I put it into park and it locks itself in park. Only way to get outa park is to restart to car n it's fine again....

ok unless the car is running it will be locked in park the only way to take it out of park with the engine off is to put your key into the unlock hole beside the shifter on the passenger side of the console

if the engine is not running and the gear lever is in park you cannot move it out ok

Unless you
A) start the engine
B) push your key into the unlock hole in the centre console next to the shifter on the passenger side

But the is when I'm drive in normal D.

If I stop at a set of traffic light, I put it I to N, whilst keeping my foot on the brake the whole time. When in ready to pull away, I go back into D but the whole car jumps forward violently!!!

I can carry on driving, which it does fine. It goes up n down the gears n everything is great. Until I get home n put it in P.

Then even with the engine running, foit on the brake, I can't get out if P unless I switch the car off n then back on.
Make sense?
