You know what, I lusted after one of these in the day, but I have to say now that I just don't feel it anymore. Why?

To be fair, I've not driven one, and that's not supposed to be a challenging question, I'm just thinking....

They're not that handsome
They're not that fast
Decently built but better than a Honda?
They're FWD and I'm guessing the handling won't be that much better than a contemporary Golf GTi (Which I am familiar with)
Princess Diana had one(!)

If it's just a "thing" I guess I understand as I have plenty of weird car "Crushes" (Skoda 110R/Fiat 850 coupe/Simca 1200coupe anyone?). Just doesn't do it for me.
