right, obviously on top of all the ususal checks which you will have well under control look out for:

little axle light on ignition should come on and go out, like abs.
Vtec change over should feel smooth. There will be little 'kick' from a healthy type S engine.

If you find a little open tarmac stop. imagine you were in slow traffic and you wanted to change lanes quickly. coast along in first and turn the wheel while giving some power. Try and pull it back right away. If the wheel/car fights you and tries to pile you into what would be the car two lanes over then ATTS is working correctly  It will feel like a really strong 'forcefeedback' steering wheel for an xbox etc.

Check the front bushes. these done exist on any other ludes. they attach to the front cross member.

Check for smoke on overrun. really give it a good hard try mate. third gear top of the revs and let it coast down to near stall. then bury the go pedal. If it puff then you have valve stem issues maybe. seems to be an issue with type S engines. both my red one and my cureent white one do this.

rust in the boot. pull up all the carpets and the rubber seal round the boot edge.
look in the side areas where the jack etc are as these collect water if the rear lights are leaking

do all your digi climate controls work? and the folding mirrors? if one mirror not then prob a replacement door with no wiring.

second and third gear crunch. these get hammered in type S so really go through the gears in all revs. If you really beat it in first gear the gearstick will almost get spat out for second. make sure all gears go in while the hammers down.

do a fast start with a little steering lock on. you shouldn't get any major tire scrubbing on one side or other. this is atts.
do a drag start and make sure there are no clunks from the tranny.

It looks like a frikkin dream mate. pop by on your way home if you fancy a breather and a cuppa :D

oh, make sure it pulls all the way to 8200 before fuel cut off and once you are going and warm put the clutch in and bounce if off the rev limiter, it should feel pretty free breathing.

In answer to your question....not that it matters now it seems....
Yes I know the car very well - have looked after it for the last to owners.
It's original A8 engine span a bearing and ruined the crank so a replacement JDM H22a was fitted which we also knew the history of. Engine is perfect and the car is in great shape and has been very well looked after.
