Not having much fun with this bloody car, just done a 30mile round trip and a hose has burst spraying what appears to be a greenish liquid all over the engine...........ARGH

Had it over 2 weeks i think and driven it a total of about 40-50 miles :(

Coolant hose? Check which one it is. The smaller coolant hoses sometimes split near the ends, which you might be able to bodge back on by trimming a little of the hose off ;) If it is coolant make sure you get the right coolant to refill as you cant mix particular coolant types.

If i can do this as it is split right next to the block What type of coolant do i use ?

AFAIK to fill the system from empty is almost 7 litres - 6.8/6.9? Someone will know for sure, I'm sure :)
