Halfords Semi-synth in the green tub has always done the job for me.

Don't get too drawn into the brand name on the oil. It really doesn't matter that much - just change it regularly (6K miles for me). ;)

The handbook says 10w30, but not very common in uk. 0w,5w,or 10w40 will all be ok.
Just get a decent quality semi, or fully synthetic.
Happy shopper 10w40 mineral oiljust wont do!!!!! :)

The 4th gen handbook gives a range of viscocities for different ambient temperatures.

10w-40 is recommended for temps -20 to 40 degrees and upwards.

Opie Oils have Gulf Competition 5W40 on special offer now, for £39ish for 5L. This is a full ester synthetic and just about the best you can put in an engine, I have some in my 2.2 VTEC and the car is super smooth and quiet, and feels faster too. Voucher code is GULF15. No affiliation!
