HELP!! Split wheel nut!

Post by andyconnolly » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:00 am

Need suggestions here
Was out a wee run in the car and ended up hitting a pot hole and guess what got a puncture
Went to put the spare on but one of the wheel nuts has split at the top! It's an internal drive but so when putting in the hex bit it's just spinning inside the nut as the splits made the hole wider.
Anyone know how to get the nut off ?

Can you hammer a deep socket over it? Might give you enough purchase.

I had a similar problem with some internal drive wheel nuts. I hammered a small precision screwdriver into the gap between the nut and the adapter you put in it to take them off.

Get a socket over it and if it just spins and won't move back stick a screwdriver in and lever it back as you turn it
I hit the limiter in my h23 vtec still didn't kick in
