always have been suspect of game/tv/film tie ins/crossovers. usually the budget doesnt quite cover the expectations of the designers. Worst thing will be that if the series fails, the game will fall into obscurity.
That aside, it does look interesting! ive heard a lot of issues with bugs and errors, so it will be interesting to see how quickly the developers patch the game up. seeing as your looking at around $12,000 just in fees from microsoft for a single update, lets hope they keep up the support!
EDIT - Just to say im also a huge scifi fan + game designer, so i have much love for this idea haha. series could be good, although they could have just kept Firefly going imho

Getting quite into it now. There has been one occasion where I could not get online and there was an update last weekend - another 10 minutesLude-dude wrote:have you played it yet?![]()
any good?

If you like post apocalyptic rpg as well as fast pasted first person shooter, it's good to go - you can make the game your own - play at your own pace. Fantastic that you can do co-op missions with (real) people that just happen to be in the area. You don't have to select co-op, other people are there or they are not. If you are struggling a bit, just come back later with re-enforcements

Re: Defiance
how does it link with the tv show? do you have to watch the show to understand the game etc?

I think you would get the game if you watched the series more
havnt seen it myself, but I have it recorded, and I dont think it ties in like it was hyped too

i was seriously unimpressed with that first episode of Defiance. terrible pacing, made you wait around for an hour before anything happened. and the crappy singing within 5 mins? i was ready to switch off. ill give it a few more episodes but scifi wont get anywhere quick with it going like it is. plus sides, reasonably likeable characters, passable cg, and hell, theres sod all other scifi about!
