Fuel pipe leak - now fixed!

Hmm, still not quite sure which part it is. I'll bring my tools home tomorrow and get it up on the ramps.

I wouldn't. Just cut the broken bit out and replace with some fuel hose.

Your best bet would be to replace with a rubber section. Alternatively use Kunifer pipe in the right diameter and make a replacement metal section.

You will be able to get both options from your local factors.

Yes, part of the standard set up has some of these pipes like that anyway.

Noob question (as I've never touched a fuel system before) I presume I have to disconnect the pipe from the pump, other wise petrol will leak when I cut the pipe? Or will it only leak fuel if the pump is running?

A bit will dribble out anyway, there is a small bolt on top of the union where the fuel rail connects on the inlet manifold after the fuel filter under the bonnet, if you undo that it should release much of the pressure in the system. Also disconnect the battery just to be safe and have a few rags on hand to catch anything.

If I take the fuel cap off, that will fully de-pressurize the system fully won't it?

I think there might still be pressure between the pump and engine bay, so it will depend on which pipe you have to mess with. You could disconnect the fuel pump and run the car to vacate the pipes of fuel.
