To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

this is what i thought at first as it does appear like that in the wire diagrams, but even though the wiper relay is conected to the intergrated controll unit it doesnt really have any bearing on this, its just that most electrical items are wired in one way or another to the control unit ( a bit like a distribution centre for the electrical devices). the signal for the intermitent wiper comes from the wiper unit only, the only difference for the 99 unit is it has a constant current feeding into it, which will need to be fed from else where as the honda unit is only live when in use. the signal from the honda unit is fed into the intragrated control unit which in turn sends it to the wiper motor, it doest make any difference where this signal comes from or the frequency, its simply distributed to the wiper motor.

oh yeh thought i should add - the constant current to the 99 relay is off when the car is off. it reverts back to 6 seconds, supose it could be perminently conected to the battery but it would eventualy drain it, though this would take ages, but doest seem safe somehow. your radio only uses a tiny current while the relay is a machanical devise and would drain it faster

Yeah sure, I was checking you meant it worked along a similar principle - the constant live was to preserve its memory.

forgot this  ok got my flash drive, will copy today, just a thought - dont remove the original honda relay, you are going to need both of them (honda relay and 99 relay) and dont cut wires yet either as you will only need to change a couple of them. you cant remove the honda relay and replace with the 99 unit, instead you will be intercepting the signals from the icu (intergrated control unit) to the honda relay and subsituting them with the signal from the 99 relay. :D

I love my intermittent wipers on my T5 van. 3 sec, 5 sec, 10 or 15.

With this relay, it can be whatever the heck you like between 2 and 40 seconds iirc 8-)
