Which spring compressor?

With the amount of f*nnying about I'm doing with suspension struts, I think it might be useful to have a spring compressor in my arsenal.

I note that our springs are pretty closely wound ... do the claws of regular compressors (of the type found in, say, Halfrauds or the local motor factor) fit between the coils or are we looking at a particular spec?

Any suggestions for not-too-expensive ones most welcome.

its only one what is good for honda springs, but you will strugle with aftermarket springs even with this one. i can check what make and part number it is

but I have a cheap set of AmTech ones that have worked many times on honda suspension, and were under a tenner on ebay.
They were single claw.

Hey lads, I have set sealey spring clamps, cost 35euro, there the basic claw type you would see in halfords etc, I used them with 40mm lowering springs, worked a treat but not completely ideal. Well worth there money.

had an accord in the other week and i couldn't use this as the springs are too close to fit the claw in.

had an accord in the other week and i couldn't use this as the springs are too close to fit the claw in.

I removed some springs with a single claw type, I wouldn't risk it or mess about again with that type they seem dangerous and prone to slipping.

cheap ones are very dangerous, i had single ones long time ago till spring fly infront of my face
