My preparation work for JapFest will be a little more, erm, extreme than just a tidy up.
I'll be taking the trike (continuing my tradition of never doing JapFest in the same vehicle twice
), but I will be doing:
- Once I get my new rear frame, paint it up and get it fitted
- Paint and fit the new Reliant rear axle
- Get a new drive shaft made up
- Re-run new pipework for the rear brakes
- Re-fit the handbrake
- Build new rear arches (as the old ones will no longer fit)
PS, when do we get the tickets?

Jobs I want to do before heading for Japfest:
Wash and polish exterior.
Vacuum and polish interior.
Repair driver's seat.
Clean & condition all leather interior.
Fit Japspeed manifold.
Fit spare rocker cover (& check valve clearances while I'm at it).
Paint wiper arms.
Jobs I expect to do before leaving for Japfest:
Fill up with petrol.

Decided to make an early start by starting today after work. Have cleaned under the boot and scrubbed with a wire brush. Wasn't much rust TBH and there's not a large area which isn't already undersealed. Have applied the first coat of BH Deox Gel and kept it in with cling film. Will apply second coat tomorrow after work.
