Dude this is exactly what is happening to mine... only when warm lags under 4000 rpm with flat spots, quite bad really,

Things it is not: (in my case)
02 sensor
fuel filter
dizzy cap
rotor arm
plugs
map sensor
TPS
IACV
FITV
Coil
Main Relay
ECU

Next to try:

Injectors
Dizzy
Fuel pump.
drokking big hammer
Temp sensor

just a bit of an odd one Bri - the lude had been running pretty sweetly up till then - just wondering if it could have been a bit of dirt in the fuel or an injector clogged - seems to have cleared ok but will have to keep an eye on it.
hope you get yours fixed ;)

Thanks bud, me too. I have searched and searched the net, getting igniter pack, fuel pump, dizzy related threads but nothing definitive.

If it's still fitted, what would be the symptoms if the resonator diaphragm seized?
Maybe worth checking? :?

The cat sensor is not an O2 sensor. It's a temperature sensor. :ugeek:

ah :!: that is the one that caused this problem on my m8's car ;)
the feed from that was reporting to the ecu a problem and instead of going into full limp mode it was lagging to stop harsh accelleration to protect the cat ;)
was told to replace the cat but just earthed out the cat sensor wire :)

@Vanzep Hold the phone, could it be that fuel I gave you? It was BP 97 RON stuff. It had been in that fuel can for a while in the boot of the car :? Although I have used fuel that has sat longer than that without issue :?

yes @Merlin pretty sure it was the fuel out of the can or maybe a bit of dirt in it - i ran out of vpower yesterday and had to put a few quids worth of 95 ron from Asda in so i could get tto the shell station- had the same feeling of loss of power but not as bad as the other day - cars now filled up with vpower and running fine - so no harm done ;)
