Are all Vtecs different?
Sounds like a stupid thing to talk about but this is a serious question?
I've owned 2 2.2 vtec both 92 4th gen ludes and a civic type R 05 plate. All 3 cars feel completely different. However, my 2.2 now Vtec does not have the same kick as my other Vtecs and just wondered if it was just pure luck or any way of improving the Vtec? Admittedly the other lude did have a chip, of which I've just bought crunchy's ECU so mine will have. Does oil leaks or anything like that affect the Vtec? As mine has a small sump leak?
Just wondered if any one has had the same kind of experience by going In a friends lude or owned other ludes of the same model etc?

Re: Are all Vtecs different?
I've found since having my cam belt done and all plugs and oil changed my vtec cross over isn't as harsh but it is faster although that may all be in my head lol

donald has it.
if you feel vtec hit hard then you are running out of puff on the first set of cams before you are supposed to. this is bad.....
Thre smoother the change over the faster you are going. as long as you have taken care of basic maintenance.
Honda acctually tuned out a few Lb/ft of torque on the B18 to give the integra bois the rush. you are going slower though.
Try a well maintained type S some time buddy. you wont even feel vtec come in the tune is so good... thats how an engine should run.
