Yep, I got pics of her damage, although she told me she didn't want me to but I risked a slap and carried on. Thank god for iPhones!mercutio wrote:sorry this happened to you did you take pics of the car when she eventually stopped good move on reporting it to the police you should have said you were injured that way it becomes a criminal offence to drive off

Oh that's crap. As said, good on you for hunting them down.
Make sure you keep us posted on what happens. People like that pleb are who put our insurance up. Makes me sick, to think that perfectly legal and respectable drivers have to foot the extra for kebabs like that woman.

yeah sorry was my night off from superhero rugby player sized bloke dutiessarah_h wrote:Of coursemercutio wrote:good on you I hope the car reg was in the pic lolI'd also got someone on the phone (handsfree of course) whilst I was in pursuit who had noted the reg whilst I wasn't able to - couldn't count on her stopping. My backup plan was to phone the police and keep following her until they caught up with us. Glad I didn't need to do that though. I think if I'd have called them to the scene she and her passenger could have got even nastier and would have just driven off. May have been a different story if I'd had a rugby payer sized man with me (*steals keys from Kia until Police arrive*)

Sorry to hear about this, hope everything gets sorted.
I think another part of the problem is the rising costs of driving. Many people are now having to drive on a shoestring budget, so jumps in premium may well mean they can no longer afford to run a car. People do crazy things when faced with such situations, not that this excuses it in any way.

Thanks. You make an interesting point there. I agree the costs are becoming unaffordable for some people. However, I am sure some of the people who claim this is the case also buy lottery tickets, cigarettes and have iPhone contracts and Sky subscriptions. Running a car is not a right (or we'd all be given a car and a licence when we reached 18), it's an option/luxury available to people if they have the means to do so. I'm of the view that if you can't afford it then don't buy it (this doesn't just apply to cars). And if you really need it but can't afford it then you have to prioritise things in your life and sacrifice something else. At the end of the day in this country people will most likely never go short of life's actual essentials to survive - a home, food, clothes etc. Although I do know that's not always the case. Point being that probably a lot of us run our Prelude's as second cars and/or spend money on some things that people say are unnecessary. But it's our hobby which I'm sure we all work hard to earn the money for. Some people like cheaper hobbies like walking, or swimming - we've just picked an expensive one with cars.lxstuart wrote:Sorry to hear about this, hope everything gets sorted.

Rant over now people (lxstuart - I do know you weren't excusing this person's behaviour by the way, but this is an interesting topic for debate)
