Bak h22a has decided it doesn't have vtec oh new limiter 6.5

Post by crigal.bb6 » Mon Jun 10, 2013 7:01 pm

Today is the first day that i have had the bb4 out properly since i bought it. Went to pick my mate up it was fine except from it hitting a limiter at 6.5k once at high speed which i thought could be jdm limiter but afterwards i made sure it didnt have a limiter on a private road. :-D. Hour or so later stop to get a bit of food nd go for a slash get back in the car vtec'd it a few times then this pain in the ass starts lool.
No lights on dash except cat light which has been on since exhaust change 2 dqys ago. What do people think? Anyone experienced this problem before?
Thanks in advance.

Check your oil mate, low oil is one thing that can cause limp mode. The oil light usually doesn't come on until it's too late on Honda's, I know from experience

you can sort the cat light out no problem but dont think that will be the problem - i take it youve removed the cat - so you just need to bolt the cat sensor to the chassis making sure youve got a decent ground on it - reset the ecu and thats it.

limiter at 6.5k in all gears? - check the connections to the vss
if its an import you will hit the limiter at 6.5k in first gear only

Being a bb4 you shouldn¨t have a cat. And if you now dont have one then the o2 sensor wire needs to be earthed to the underside too put out cat light on dash.

Why would a BB4 have a cat light if it isn't meant to have a cat?
