When you remove the engine, you can unplug it from the car harness at the strut tower on the passenger side - this allows you to remove the engine and gearbox with their looms atill attached and intact. This is 100% the easiest way to do the swap. All you then need is to run the extra wires from the ecu in the passenger footwell, up to the strut tower on the same side. I wish I'd taken pictures when I did it, would make this a lot easier to explain, but in summary - bring the H22 + gearbox + loom in one go and your life will be a lot easier!

Fantastic that what I was hoping to do. I know very little about engines and swaps but that's all makes perfect sense to me and that's how easy i was hoping it was. Then it's just the niggly stuff like indicator stalks being opposite sides on the JDM to UK? I know it sounds little and petty but all stuff I need to know incase i get stuck. Ideally I want to do it in time for Santa pod

Yup, mine (ludes in general) are the 'opposite' way round to most UK cars.....even my Mrs' Aerodeck :!:
I prefer the lights on the right TBH.

The 4th gen kept the stalks the correct way round, both UKDM and JDM. It was the 5th gen that ruined things for everyone by switching them for the UK market.

So both Uk and JDM are both on the right for indicator? Every time I get in a non lude car it's the opposite way round! I end up doing the same and putting the wipers on!

Most older UKDM jap cars have the stalks the 'correct' way round, my '87 Accord has the lights/indicator on the right and the wipers on the left 8-) it only seems to be on the newer UKDM models that they caved in and put the stalks backwards.

As for getting confused, I jump from car to car all the time with no problem :poke: it's no different to remembering that the heater controls are laid out differently or the hazard switch is located somewhere else, when you think about it :)
