your right, 96 was a good year, its where they finally came to the decision of making the 5th gen after all the mistakes they had made with the 4th. :D

Is all of yours a 1996 or a pre march 1997 p plate? My date of manufacture was 31st October 1996 if I can find the paperwork.

Another question regarding the block I need for this engine
It will have to be H22A4 i would imagine?
I have a makings of H22a7 block there I was hoping to use

What's wrong with the engine?

I said the block is based on an a4. But you can't just bolt an a4 block on. The block is unique to atts ludes and oil filter is ub a different location.
You will need an sh block from McDonalds....sorry USA or another a type S block.

This is all assuming your keeping atts. If not then any block will do.

Threw a rod out through the block ! So the Type S block is knackered.
I have an A7 block there but I sold on the Euro R Box aghhhhh ! So I dont think I can go that route unless I get another box.
Thought this was going to be a cheap fix for me but doesnt seem so.
At home here now, so will throw up a few pictures
