Honda Accord Coupe 3.0 v6 coupe advice

Post by 3rd gen steve » Mon Jun 24, 2013 11:47 pm

Was speaking to my elderly neighbour recently who was given a really nice accord coupe v6 by his son but unfortunately because of his poor health he has trouble getting in and out. He asked if I would be interested in the car, which I definitely am, but have no experience of these cars so was wondering if anyone had any ideas what to look out for or even how much it is worth? Any help would be awesome.

I think it was only the 6th gens with the V6 lump? You can pick them up for around a grand with average miles, they're all autos though!!

about a grand it all depends on the engine if its a 3.0 it will be heavy on juice if its a late one it will have that economy thing where it runs on half the cylinders
they are well specced cars normally and the engines are good but they are a heavy car and as already said they go for about a grand

Think of it as a mini-Legend, only slightly quicker. Nice car.
I used to pass one every day and watched over the months as it got dustier and the tyres got softer. I wrote a note about buying it one morning: unfortunately, it had disappeared the weekend before ...

I know they are not as quick as a prelude but I was looking for a comfy cruiser as I may be having to travel from edinburgh to slough to visit my little bro and family who is moving, thought it might be a nice way to travel, v6, auto, cruise control ;)
