My brother owns one of these cars,,amongst other things I've actually borrowed it and taken it around the ring,,, anyway, I'll tell you what I know,
If they've been hammered, unlikely but they can suffer on the old auto gearbox, (not common)
They are a little on the heavy side, but that's because of all the comfort theyre loaded with, plenty.
Ac, heated seats, full leather, cruise cont, plenty of room & comfort for a coupe,
Shocking parallel parking vision, gutsy engine but won't keep up with a h22, brakes do get fady if hammered down
Yup they're book value is about 'a bag o sand' they look better with the boot spoiler on, they're usually low millage cars but that's because they're not fantastic on juice, they were designed for the American Market so you'll find plenty about them on American site,s,,,,, but basically crap on fuel, comfy, fully loaded and very nice to drive as a fast tourer rather than an all out sports coupe,,, I enjoy driving it,,,,as comfy as a loaded CLK to be in,,,

Just a small warning i think parts are not to easy to come by. There is one in at work that needs a new front balljoint its costing the garage over 200 as its main dealer only so hes got labour on top of that to pay.

^This would be the only worry.
You can tell its a big comfy car so will be heavy on petrol bui if its long journeys your looking at then you should be able to get the top end on economy figures. I like the sound of the later ones with the hemi type arrangement - sounds like that would give you better economy figures in mixed driving.

About 5 or 6 years ago i asked for an opinion on the condition of my lude from a garage - when i went back they had an accord coupe sitting there and they said i should buy that instead

Would be perfect for the long motorway journeys, and as such I wouldn't worry about it being an auto.
For motorway mileage at sensible speeds, you should be capable of reasonable mpg figures. I've managed 31mpg in the Legend, which has the older C-series V6.
