Plus, even if (is it?) the difference between say V-Power and Regular Unleaded was 10p, that's still only 6 quid over a 60L tank.

I thought I was saving money?

To be fair I fill up at Morrisons, which is the cheapest petrol [unleaded standard] on the market at present [I think anyway?]

Is your car JDM Peachy? If not, then unleaded 95 is the correct fuel to use.

I think the lesson to learn here is to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on the bottle.
The mixture may have confused the O2 sensor resulting in the ECU throwing a wobbly.

Top the petrol tank right up, then drive until empty to remove most of that stuff.
I generally use Redex once every 6-12 months just to clean the injectors. I can't tell if it actually works though! :?

No you're doing it wrong on many levels ;)

Not sure about your confusion with octane either. The 95/97/99 etc. is the octane rating or however you might describe it.

Up to you where you fill up, personally I just stick V-Power in mine, I'm not that bothered about the price difference of a couple of pence on the litre between stations. If you can afford to fill up (which is where most people base their comparisons, x amount for a full tank here, there, etc.) then you can afford what is IMO a negligible difference. The trend of pricing is what concerns me.

This topic has been covered before and depending who you ask some will tell you V-Power only if you have a JDM (edit: see, Pushki :P not up on 4Gs but I know the 99+ UKDM 5G has a knock sensor so can IMO make optimum use of the higher octane), others will say it makes no difference if you use Tesco vs. BP. It's a can of worms.

But to get back on topic, don't keep using that booster stuff, maybe once every now and then. Just buy good quality fuel.

Depends if you're filling your ECU with it or putting it in the fuel tank

oh Will

your ecu is only mapped to run 95 ron ;) running 97 or above will do nothing,0,nada,zip :D
all petrol has octane and cleaning and servicing your engine is the only way :P there are no short cuts or lazy way out :P
your lude is what it is unless you wish to sink a lot of money into it to make it someting it is not

you have a nice reliable lude but you keep falling for these muppets that try and suck you in with cheap so called, power mods and they are going to ruin your lude for you

i know what your lude means to you man and i would rather see you spend your hard earned cash on real enhancements to your pride and joy than get ripped off ;)

Pushki's got it, a UK car should use UK fuel.

A knock sensor will not change the tune on a car to take advantage of a better fuel, it will just trim performance of a car that expects a better quality of fuel that is now lacking.

Bad wording on my part but I stand corrected, I would argue though that is a bit of a case of half full/half empty or am I reading what you've written wrong? As in if you can use a 'better' fuel and don't, you're essentially losing out. :?: This is going off topic though, so sorry Peachy.

At least your problem has fixed itself ;)

As Dbo said as well, keep it reliable and don't buy anything that you shouldn't. Plenty of advice available on here.
