Please explain BMCC, that really doesn't make sense. If he puts a crankcase filter on the inlet, he'll loose air after the TB.
And you say move the catch can to the right place. The right place being where? Why is it not ok where it is and keep the PCV system in place.

I think you are getting confused with the catch can being used as a sealed system to catch oil vapours in standard to mild tuned cars. This is for high builds, especially boosted applications which need a bit more vent to atmosphere. I really don't see anything wrong with this setup.
