To clarify - that's In Car Entertainment - not frozen water

CAT temp + battery warning lights is the warning that there is a problem with your alternator. I had the exact same when my alternator popped its clogs.

If you can, check the output form the alternator.

I made the "fcuk it" decision of going to the track anyway  I knew that 4th and 5th gen alternators have different plugs but wasn't sure on the exact swapping procedure, plus I wasn't going to resort to hacking up wires at 7.30 in the morning.

Run engine at 2,000 rpm with the headlights on high beam and if the terminal voltage is less than 16V, replace the alternator (page 23-126 of the 4th gen service manual).

We tested Vanzep's alternator using the method from the service manual. It gave 14.2V and seems to be charging adequately.

I actually haven't tested it yet but my two dash lights are still on but my volt gauge is still reading 14v I thought I would have lost some voltage from starting it up everyday and using electrics :?

Check the earth mate, the TWC light and battery light share a common one, see this service manual page:

Cant help with the cat light, but check the letters for each connection on the large plug that connects to the alternator. i swapped mine and it was working and charging fine, but i had the battery light on, i replaced it with another alt from ebay and it was fine, i worked out that the connections are labeled with letters, and they were the wrong way round on the first alt i used.

If that makes sense....lol. its been a long day.
