Just tint them with vinyl wrap. My mate done his and it looks quite good. Or... The old tights trick!

my thoughts, would be good for track days to stop the headlights getting smashed, especially for the jdm lads with the plastic lenses

Tights? That's stupidly tacky, I don't think any of us would actually do that.

Tinting the actual lens? Massively illegal and dangerous (unless using that new fly eye stuff, even then I'd still question it). The idea of using the headlight cover like Dbo has done, is that you get the tinted look during the day and at shows, but at night when you need the headlight, they are easily removed.
