Even Honda's in general, the arse falls out most of them at some point and only a few hold a premium.

DC2 - Best handling FWD car at 1 point, and to this day, still regarded as this by many.

EK9 - The original Civic Type R with its high hp 1600cc engine, which i think was the highest bhp per litre car at 1 point. Also being JDM only has probably had something to do with its high price tag.

NSX - Honda's supercar.

Those are the only 3 that stand out for me, where the prices havn't bottomed out like the others.
see those ido kinda of agree with but, and this is a personal thing, i drove an ek9; meh is the best i can describe it, i wasnt blown away for the 5k price tag, on track maybe. teg i was felt similarly cold. never drive an nsx though.

but why on why are mb's priced as they are (considering its a rover underneath) and why are lower speced ef, eg and ek civics still fetch decent money along with crx's

..because of the JDM sheep, as it were. People only want to know about Honda's that have a Type-R variant and you can get a cheap crappy UKDM Civic, stick a square plate on it and then call it "JDM as F**K, Yo!". Low power Civic's are an easy way to get on the JDM bandwagon, cheap insurance, cheap parts, Fast and Furious following - the Prelude, however, is not so cheap to insure or cheap to run and you can't really disguise a lower power model as a 'Type-R' (although many have tried hahaha). In their day the 'ludes were expensive executive cars rather than '1st car material', leading the way in technological advances. Because they were expensive, the kids didn't buy them and because the kids didn't buy them, they never became food for sheep.

Now though, they are low priced, awesome cars ..and the rate that people are crashing/wrecking them, they will be classics sooner than we think! Be prepared for the price to start rising, people...

It is good that Ludes are cheap and spare parts are cheap. Since it doesn't have a Type-R badge on it insurance is cheap too.

There isn't another car that has the same mix of quality, comfort, and performance, certainly not another Honda anyway.

Probably the reason why that went so cheap (aside form the misfire) is because it is not a desirable model. 2.0 with crème interior :?

It's true, Preludes are undervalued here. And they do have heritage, which is that – for a long period – they were Honda's flagship car into which all its best technology (VTEC, 4WS, double wishbone F+R suspension, etc.) was fitted. They were superbly built for the time, and are still lovely cars to drive by any standards.

Honda's reputation in the UK is entirely different to that in some other countries. Here, it's Eastbourne pensioners in Honda Jazzs, but in Japan (where I lived for 7 years), Honda is more of an Alfa Romeo sort of brand - all the keen drivers love 'em. It's fascinating how the culture changes from place to place...
