It could be the ignitor or coil, both of which are inside the dizzy cap and easy to replace.

Dizzy going is usually preceded by a 'death screech'!
what is this death screech thing ur on about?
Thankfully I've never experienced it, but I'm aware of it.
Sometimes, but not always the dizzy gives a bit of a warning by screeching like a sonofabitch.
A quick google brought this up: http://www.preludeaustralia.com/forum/a ... 6890092f92

I got that after I changed my belts. Never squeaked before and then replaced the belts and it squeaked. Tightened it up a bit and it squeaked less. Turned it on today and doesn't work at all. But I've been told its fuel pump now.
