so iv just been and cleaned the solenoid and gauze and I'm afraid there is no change, as i draw the selector back to R after a few moments and a clunk i get reverse then i select N and it goes in, back to D4 a delay with a judder and a jolt and i get second and once its in no R or any other gear :? iv cleaned of the two solenoids on the top of the box but the is what appears to be another two metal 'caps' each secured with one bolt each, are these solenoids too??

Cant believe same thing just happend to my 4th gen its always been slower changing from 3rd to 4th but this morning i put foot down to over take lorry an it went to change back to 3rd but didnt just revved to 8000 an didnt move so came off pedal then it grabbed gear again but now it seems to change gear really harsh , think this mite be end of box but my trans fluid is very dark so is this worth changing first? :(
