I thought I should give an update on the additional processes that have occurred on the prelude since last year, it has been a while since I have updated my thread.
Most of you may know that I have recently just bought a new daily driver so most of my efforts have been focused on the Accord to get it to a high standard that I was happy with.

ATR Clutch, CC Light Weight Flywheel and Fuel Filter Change
From the previous update it was mentioned that I needed to install a previously purchased new clutch and lightweight flywheel

K&N Panel Filter & Vtec Solenoid Gasket
This was more of a maintenance action than anything else.
A K&N air filter was purchased to help with providing ease of maintenance come service time
It was purchased at an excellent price less than half the cost of a standard OEM Honda filter so I thought why not

At the same time it was noticed that a small leak was present near the vtec solenoid and after reading a few threads it was quite clear the solenoid gasket required changing.
It was a quick call to Coxmotorparts who supplied the gasket required in no time.

It was a quick simple gasket replacement, the area was given a thorough clean too.

Miester R Damper Adjustment Extenders
Due to doing a track day later this year I decided to purchase some damper adjustment extenders from Miester R. These will allow the dampers to be adjusted without the need in puling apart the trunk trim interior.

It was a simple install and a few small slits in the boots interior the tops of the extenders can poke out neatly

IACV Valve & Drivers Door Lock Mechanism
Upon taking the prelude to work it was noticed that one morning the drivers door did not unlock once the remote central locking was opened. The passenger door unlocked fine but the driver’s door only unlocked half way but the door remained locked. I manually opened it with the key and the mechanism seemed ok.
Later that weekend the whole door card was removed in attempt to spray some lubricant into the mechanism as the thought of it being seized or sticky
This did not work so it was time to look at replacing the whole drivers door lock mechanism. I looked at it closely when the door card was removed that weekend and it seemed like a straight forward job to replace it myself.

Whilst I was enquiring I also purchased an IACV valve, for the past year or so the Prelude had been suffering from really low rev drop when the car is running with a high electrical load (i.e. air con and headlights on) I thought I would give it a try at replacing the IACV to see if it would solve the issue as my previous efforts of coolant bleeding, IACV clean (current unit), throttle body adjustments, checking all vacuum tubes) have failed to sort the problem out.

I would like to give my thanks to @justas Labinas of JLX Honda Parts for providing the parts to me, great service and communications.
The drivers door mechanism was rather tricky to replace but with a little patients and care it when through with no trouble, the biggest issue I had with changing the mechanism was the tacky glue around the door frame. This tacky glue is used to attach the door seal membrane. With the seal membrane in such poor condition it was removed entirely and all the tacky glue cleaned away.
A new membrane will also be purchased to replace the old one.
Old Door membrane removed, notice all the tacky glue used to hold membrane in place.
This was sticky and horrible stuff. It got everywhere L

All tacky glue removed using white spirit
After this action the door mechanism was successfully installed
A quick test revealed it now locks and opens with the touch of the key fob. A great result J
Then came the replacement of the IACV valve.
This was a simple job and with only a couple bolts and hoses securing the IACV.
The new replacement valve was thoroughly cleaned prior to install
Once installed, I fired up the engine and gave it a test. With all the electrical loads on the idle behaved well and didn’t drop right down on the verge of stalling.

Door Membrane Sheet
With the door mechanism replaced and successfully working there was still the matter of replacing the door seal membrane in the drivers door after I had to discard it due to its poor condition.
A quick enquiry to coxmotorparts they quoted me excellent prices on the door membrane, whilst I was at it I ordered the two gasket seals on the IACV valve too.

When the parts arrived it was just a matter of installing the membrane sheet. Automotive double sided tape was used to attach the membrane as the correct tacky adhesive stuff was difficult to source.

Headlight Refurb 05-10-14
This was a job I have always wanted to do for a long time so finally after buying a refurb kit it was time to give it a go.
The Kit I bought was the 3M headlight restoration kit.
I know there are other ways of refurbing the lenses but I wanted something all contained in a kit ready to go
It was a breeze to use, I just needed another battery for my drill to continue non stop. Unfortunately I couldn’t use my mains powered drill due to the car park having no means of getting mains power out there.

Track Day
My wife surprised me on my birthday with a with a track day, i couldn't have been happier and couldn't wait to get the prelude on track.
All booked in with my brother as a second driver and the wife as a passenger.
The track was the Autodrome in Bedford, we did the Autodrome in bedford a couple years ago but it was a different track layout, back then it was the GT track. This time is the SEN layout.
Being the SEN layout it was smaller which meant it was easier to learn
The session would be a full day from 8am untill 5pm.
Overall the day was great fun, we had an absolute hoot with the prelude. There were no issues with the car at all and it just kept going.
In rained alittle in the morning which resulted in a little less traction but it was great fun.
The prelude could definitely do with an LSD which was probably my only complaint with the car
I would recommend a track day to anyone who loves cars.
