Hello guys, I got a strechy cv boot but I don't have a cone to put it in with I used a coke bottle but no good and ideas on how to get it to stretch over the cv joint thanks all help appriciated

Might be stupid idea but wondering whether you could use a shoe horn to stretch it over the joint?

Find/Borrow a cone, any friendly local garage will likely have one. Nothing you'll find in the house will be rigid/smooth enough.

Or just take the drive shaft out which only takes a few minutes and will only cost you two metal ties and a bit of CV grease, side stepping the problem.

Why do you need to take off the CV joint? Isn't it just the boot you are replacing?

Hello guys trying to but the shaft in to the gear box can't get it to sit flush any ideas how to get it to sit flush the car is in neutral
