balance shaft oil seal retainer

yep they just fit on with one screw - the hole is already there :)
yes its a retrofit part - i guess Honda had a few failures and thought this would be a good solution
tbh it seems to sit quite a distance away from the balance shaft seal and to my wouldnt stop any leak from the seal itself but would stop the seal flying completely off the end of the shaft - if your going to do the retainer then you might as well fit a new seal as well - easy job to do and only a few quid from Honda.

tbf is worth £15 if it stops your engine from dropping its oil on your drive or worse on the motorway :lol:
