Routing amp & power leads leads

It may not be the nicest or retro thing to do but as i love my music (and bass) i'm going to put my sub in the 2g.
It will obv go in the boot but I'm wondering where's the best way of routing the cables. Possibly under the carpet on one side im not too sure i haven't really had a chance to look for options lol.

to bore you with the details it's a 1200w JBL sub with a fusion 400w amp.
The sub box is fully enclosed which makes the sub have more of an impact when the air it pushes hits the plastic and bounces back etc.

It will go at the back in the corner out the way

even though its a big old thing!

Any help would be much appreciated as i dont want to ruin or break anything

Edit: what adaptor leads will i need if i change the original stereo for like a sony or something?

I route mine down the side under carpets and trims don't like wires hanging about. Can't help you with adapters as don't know what 2g wiring is loke

Your sub in a band pass enclosure so it won't be fully enclosed. The chamber size front and back and tube length/width determine what frequency its tunned to or peaks at.

On the fiewall there will be a hole under the powersteering area assuming the 2nd gen is similar to my 3rd, 4th and 5th gens when I routed mine.

will that let the live feed cable from the engine bay through the car? yeah i might take the carpet up one side and feed it through, I've found out that you can lower the rear seat

so il pass it through that unless there's a better way?

don't forget about fuse as close to the battery as possible. Also your power wire have to be enough big. Try to keep it with other egzisting(?) wires and your signal cable as far as possible from them. Try to avoid installing signal cables in parallel with any other wires.

Don't know much about 2g but I have put 0gauge power cable through right seal, speaker cables through left seal and signal wires under center console in my 4g

Have you been thinking about any sound deadening mats? It's worth to try. They will reduce your car rattle from bass and road noise

The signal wires are the 2 that come from the stereo and the small blue one?

In my fiesta they were all bunched up together haha oops!
I was going to get the kit from halfords for up to 1500w so should be fine : )

You know what that probably wouldnt be a bad idea. The exhaust is quite loud :L how much does that stuff cost and would I put it under the carpet or like everywhere

Edit: just had a look on eBay, so they basically go in the doors or where ever the speakers are :L looks good, not that cheap though but it's probably worth it. Christmas is coming up soon :L

That's the one. Some good quality cables don't use the blue one and you have to do it separately. This is for remote signal to turn on and off your amplifier. You connect it to REM on your amplifier and to REM ANT in your radio (usualy blue wire).

This might to generate some unwanted noise from your speakers.

Just remember that usually buying stuf like this from halfords you can not expect it will be good for 1500W. But it will do the job with your 400W amp easily.

That is true. It's not cheap but from my experience worth every penny. First of all I did only doors but then I realized it will be good for trunk, and I ended up with dynamat extreme mats and silent coat 8mm noise isolator all arond the car.
In my opinion even free flow 2.5" exhaust is quiet inside, there is very small road noise, and I feel like my car was as big as van. It's hard to explain but I feel there is a different and I'm not alone. Just remember them mats are also quite heavy.

Don't worry above seperating signal cables to power cables. If the grounds are good you won't have an issue. Mine are now all bunched together and no noise at all.

Oh I always heard you should run power down one side of the car and signal down the other...did that change recently?

If so I spent double the amount of painstaking effort trying to sort out my damn peugeot wiring haha!
