nucleustylzlude wrote: Indigolemon pointed me in the direction of your ECU help thread. To be honest the Sleepy chip you have is still a great map. When his chip burner broke a few years back I picked up where he left using a fellow forums original Spoon ECU which had the V2 chip that I bang on about in my for sale thread. For your information, Sleepy used to sell the V1 chip, and before that was called Darfsport chip (also a V1 chip), from the days of Honda Revolutions / Evolutions. Been around the Honda scene for a while now.
I'd say stick with your Sleepy chip to save on some money, until recently the only difference I could check with my programs were parameters, which highlights the V1 chip has approx a 8.5k rev limit over the V2's approx 8k rev limit. Some prefer the higher rev but I'll be honest the car doesn't make anymore power in that range unless you have a built head. The power tails of before that.
That was all until recently, where I had some chap on here test out a V1, V2, V3. There are 4 versions that I have manage to get my hands on, there might be more??? The V3 was the worst, still made gains but alot lower than the V1 & V2. The V1 & 2 were close, but the V2 made like a few decimels more peak bhp & torque, but it was the fact that the increases were better on the V2 from earlier on in the rev range would suggest it should accelerate quicker. That's my preferred chip of choice and is what I suggest to people. They're only £20, but just fit the one you have if you don't want to buy another. You could always swap them around depending on what you prefer, or check them yourself on a dyno session if you want to.
So back to the issue of the knock sensor. I'll be honest, it's been a while since I opened a chip up in my Crome P13 Plugin, I can't remember seeing a tick box for disabling the knock sensor. I could be wrong though - just never had the request. I'll have a look and get back to you. It'll be tomorrow night as I'm out tonight.
Cheers,
Rob
