Just got my Lude winter-ready & found more (minor) problems

Post by ingramr189 » Thu Dec 12, 2013 5:20 pm

Well I picked up my Prelude this morning after having the new winter tires slapped on my stock rims, had another shop install new brake pads, and after I picked her up I went to the self service auto shop and gave her an oil and oil filter change, topped off the fluids, and put in some new NGK spark plugs.

Well, firstly, my valve cover has a gasket leak, specifically an O ring that's gotten one of the spark plug hole (what's the proper term for this) soupy on the bottom with some oil  , then on top of that the end cap of that spark plug wire lead (proper term?) broke off.. so I need to get new spark plug wires anyway (ironic I asked about this the other day).

So yeah.. that was my day

I'm trying to get my car to a solid Stage Zero and in healthy shape before I start doing minor bolt ons and cosmetics for the spring.

And PS.. my mission with this car is solely to learn tuning, have fun, and get some experience with an inexpensive, reliable daily driver. Minor bolt ons and subtle mods to keep it an enjoyable drive. :)
