I have the M2P4 in my 5th gen which is the same as the U2Q7 (minus the diff) and I dont wheels spin much either. But put a final drive in it and I bet it will spin up easier, put a bit more power through it and it will spin up the wheels even more. True a decent diff might handle it a bit better but the potential is still there and more likely than the other boxes.

My track car is wheel spin mad in 2nd and 3rd in the damp/wet on a public road.

My old ATR, which was dinos old ATR was running 236bhp with the U2Q7 box, m factory 4.64 final drive with the stock diff and stock 5th gear. Wheel spin really wasn't an issue for me in the ATR.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad in 5th, the FD wont close up the gears further than maybe 10% (cant remember the numbers now), but that'll turn 4000rpm for 80mph into 4400rpm for 80mph.

Biggest problem, which no one's mentioned is keeping it in vtec between 2nd & 3rd with a 7800rpm rev limit.

I thought of the rev limit when i was looking at tuning my lude... I thought about putting it up to 8.5k for those mid range gears to keep it in tec / have enough revs to keep it going!

If you have a Lude modified enough to be raising the rev limit odds are you will be moving VTEC engagement point too. I cant keep my track car in VTEC all the time with its 6.5K VTEC. Yeah 3rd to 4th changes in the U2Q7/M2P4 are hard to keep it in VTEC but it is possible. You need to red line it in 3rd before changing.

@Thebusofwoe What will you be using this gearboix for? Just on the road on a car with a stock engine?

It's better to control wheel spin with the help of LSD and good tyres, than longer gears, to my mind. While it's possible, of course. But I'm not an expert :)

I am running U2Q7 + 4,64 FD and Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres, 216 HP (couple years ago).
Now it's much easier to control wheel spin in 1st gear and no problems with 2 or 3 gears. Thanks to LSD. And I really enjoy those short gears, "butt dyno" says it goes way better :) It's a pity I couldn't measure 0-100 km/h before and after gearbox change, so no real proof.

When I had M2V5 (5th gen H22 box), it was quite easy to slip front tires in 2nd gear. Don't even want to remember the 1st gear...

I am only talking about dry road surface. And I don't use my Prelude on track.

Wow. Some interesting and legit comments guys. I appreciate it. :D. Well the whole build is on a track car that is road legal. ;). So it would seem then that the best option would be a ATR box with a 4.64 fd. Only issue with this is keeping in vtec between 3/4th? I have only atm a standard uk h22a2 box. So really want something a little more suited to the track. 8-) AND a LSD
